One Story Line has ended, and another starts. We now find ourselves 4 months into the future. During this period of time much has happened. While the Sabbat attacks occured, the Camarilla made pacts with the Devil... the Devil being Envotech the local hunter corporation, in order to gain backing in their battle against the Sabbat and Anarchs. While this was happening the Independent kindred managed to stay out of the line of fire by staying low in Silver Terrace. The Lasombra Antitribu took this opportunity to take control of the Marina District. The Gangrel managed to keep their hold on Golden Gate Heights up through the Presidio as well with little trouble. Losing one of their Bishops to the independents as well as catching wind of things which had till then laid low, content to merely watch as well as the new alliance between the Camarilla and Envotech, the Sabbat withdrew to Oakland across the bay to regroup and lay low. And through it all, the Sorcerers managed to stay clear of the whole mess, opting to keep their noses clean.
The things that the Sabbat had caught wind of were this... During the riots reports coming in of bodies being found mauled to death as though by animals, bodies having been sucked dry and left as husks in a way not even the kindred could create... and the Kindred of the East whom had a tight hold on Chinatown had gone running back to whence they came.
Shifters. Those who carry the spirit of the beasts and hold connections to the Umbra (spirit realms) finally coming out from where they had been hiding. The commotion and chaos that the Vampires - wyrm tainted creatures that they are, being their call to arms.
Things by now have settled but the Vampires know that they aren't alone, the same for the Sorcerers. Luckily for them, the Garou have stayed put in their territories north... but the Fera are nothing to trifle even if they do have more of a 'live and let live' attitude.
So here the future is now, and we turn to see what this new turn of events will bring to fruition in San Francisco's own little World of Darkness.
The City San Francisco is the fourth most populated city in California and the 13th most populated city in the US. The estimated population is 808,976 people, and is massively diverse. The city is located at the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula, with the Pacific Ocean to the west and San Francisco Bay to the north and east. In 1776, the Spanish established a fort at the Golden Gate and a mission named for Francis of Assisi. The Gold Rush in 1848 propelled the city into a period of rapid growth, transforming it into the largest city on the West Coast at the time. After being devastated by the 1906 earthquake and fire, San Francisco was quickly rebuilt.
In 1866 a small community of vampire lead by Richard Watson, a young, English born, ambitious Ventrue took power in San Francisco. He is still in power to this day. The fight was long an arduous, but Watson was as stubborn as he was ambitious and he refused to give ground to the Anarchs or the Cathayans. However the dream of the Anarchs was never to be and all the Cities and territories they gathered eventually crumbled and were reabsorbed back into the Camarilla and the Kindred of the East. San Francisco was no different. By the 1950’s Anarchs were few and far between. Mysteriously, and much to Prince Watson’s surprise, a few years after Anarchs lay defeated the Cathayans all but vanished from the city. Only a bare few numbers still dwell in China Town. To this day it still remains a mystery as to why this happened. Watson was quick to reinforce his borders against the Sabbat and it wasn’t until recently that his grip started to slip.
The Sabbat have always been up and down in the city, though in recent times it has been the latter. With the collapse of the Anarch Free States, the Sabbat had a harder time than they originally thought in getting into San Francisco due to Camarilla reinforcements and the Kindred of the East. They decided to wait for a time where both factions would be weakest. They weren’t counting on the sudden retreat of the Cathayans and the following strength of the Camarilla. A small band of Sabbat lead by a Lasombra by the name of Anton Pascal finally got their foot in the door and took over the Hunter’s Point harbour area in early 2006. After that, the harbour became a foothold of sorts and the other two Sabbat Bishops made a bold drive forward and won a further two territories. Since then the war has raged and Anton likes to play dirty. The Sabbat's main tactic was to use the Masquerade against the Camarilla...big surprise there.
Through every incident the Camarilla populace grew increasingly nervous. By mid 2008 it all boiled to a putrid head. The easy solution would be for the Prince to call for backup and reinforcements, but Richard is as prideful as he is stubborn. His main fear is to lose his city, by being displaced for failing or by being defeated. So instead of taking the easy way out, he and his followers decided to take the hard road. And what a road it proved itself to be; things started to go bad quickly and the Sabbat grew bolder.
Finally a potential light was discovered in the form of a beautiful Toreador by the name of Roselie Black, a young Anarch looking for a new territory to develop. When she arrived the Prince was quick to use this to his own advantage. He went against everything he stood for, as he saw the Anarchs as the lesser of two evils and offered Miss Rose some prime real estate to call her own. Seeing the potential, this young woman, now Baron, accepted it on her own terms. From this point on her Barony has grown at a reasonable pace and the Camarilla...well they don't feel so alone anymore. With the failure of the Anarch Free States the Prince assured his city that by throwing them a bone all that will happen is placing a meat shield between his Kindred and the Sabbat.
As for other Supernatural in the area they are mainly isolated, word has it that the mortal Sorcerers are on the rise somewhere near Brisbane, who and what they are planning no one can be sure. The Independent vampires that remain are unchanged. As for the Garou, well they have been around for a very long time…Nowadays the Sept keep to themselves and defend their territory with deadly precision as there is rumored to be a Caern located somewhere North of the city.
In the early months of 2009 the relations between the Anarchs and the Camarilla broke down into outright conflict, when the Prince and the Baron butted heads of rights of control. The details of said conflict are kept hidden to all outsiders. Its nature is becoming dirty and very destructive. The term war is denied by the Prince, if asked he refers to it as a battle of wills a matter of pride. The Barron…well she calls it a fight for the right to survive…the right to kick an asshole in the balls!
In these dark nights of revolution and Anarchy Baron Roselie Black has disappeared, where and when she will return no one knows, however Anarch pride is high and the struggle continued. Many tried but in the end it was the Anarch mistrust for one another and personal conflicts that lead to their demise. After the murder of Prince Richard Watson by his beloved Harpy Cindi York, who ended up being a Sabbat Mole the Nosferatu lead by Samual took command. Through sheer stubborn aggression he brought back the Camarilla form the brink and the last of the Anarchs were wiped out. Rumors have spread that the new "Star Force" that was set up to combat the growing gang violence in San Francisco has a more sinister, covert mission; some known troublemakers of the supernatural variety have disappeared without a trace, and reports of Star Force being at the scenes of the disappearances are spreading. It is still unconfirmed if they are responsible.
